We have chosen to use possessed children in the opening to our thriller film; possessed means to be influenced or controlled by a powerful force such as an emotion. We have chosen to do this because children being possessed is in our eyes more terrifying than an adult being possessed as it is more gruesome and scandalous. This overwhelming and almighty force which cannot be controlled adds tension and makes our audience fear the little girl/s that appear in our opening, they don't want to know what is going to happen next - but the audience pleasure of escapism makes them continue watching. I edited this montage of images on photoshop to make the images more sinister and eerie.
